Tip of the week

Spring is a great time of year to photograph. Everything is new again!  Try to see things from the height of the subject. For instance, shoot flowers from a low vantage point, not from standing position. Get in closer than you normally would and look for  simplicity in your composition. Use a piece of white cardboard to reflect light into the shadow areas.

Take a piece of sky blue poster board and place it behind your flower to act as sky if there is a building or such behind the flowers you are photographing. Use a larger fstop (5.6) to throw the background out of focus and noone will ever know it wasn’t a true sky.
