Kathy Peoples of Katydid Photography went to her favorite spot for spectacular images of life size ghost and goblins. Not everyone can create ethereal works of art out of the gauze once used to cast broken bones. Retired city school art teacher Dolores Dragan can, with a Halloween display that stops traffic. Every year, she adds more figures that are patterned after people she knows. It’s a site not to miss!
Here are some of the images we took with a tripod using long exposures. Students also learned how to light paint with flashlights.

Come join me as we photograph the beauty of the sunflowers in the morning light. This is a newly planted field. I’m told there will be lots of color variety. Shoot with your Macro or closeup lenses for detailed work to create beauty at it’s finest. Also bring your wide angle lens for some great field shots too. Cell Phone pictures are welcome too!

Learn to photograph beautiful unique buildings at night using a tripod. Exposures and techniques will be discussed and tried. Filters and tripods will be available for your use. The only night all three buildings will be lit.
This is an amazing night full of possibilities for picture taking. Photograph the cathedral inside and out. Capture the beautiful stained glass windows in all their glory. Learn how to shoot architecture with wide angle lenses and tripods. Capture the famous “blue light” that Kathy loves so much!.
From 7:00-9:00 pm Kathy will help you with Manual Exposure settings, depth of field, how to get stars from the lights and more. Then wander the grounds for an hour on your own or hang and ask questions. If you’ve never been here on this special night, you are in for a Treat!!! The time goes by so quickly on this night and it is a photographers dream.
You will learn how to master your digital camera. Learn to understand what each function on your camera is and more importantly what it does. Not only will we explore the buttons and dials, we will cover proper exposure using ISO, f-stops, shutter speeds, depth of field, lenses, flash and composition. Also discover how to stop the action of sports photos and learn how to take beautiful portraits of your loved ones.
Hands-on instruction during each class. A simple assignment will be given to students each week to help them achieve their goals. All Classes include written instructions and our famous Laminated Cheat Sheet created by Katydid just for you!
