Take great photographs of our beautiful city, Philadelphia. We are VERY fortunate to have an EXPERT tour guide with us as we wander thru Philadelphia and take pictures. He will tell you some stories about the history of Philadelphia, as well as some you may not even know about!
We will be hopping on and off the bus every 15 minutes for as long as we need. There are many sites to see but we hope to be stopping at as many of these listed below. You will have time to take photos and ask questions.
Independence Hall, Penn’s Landing, Spruce St. Harbor Park, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, “Rocky Steps” and statue, LOVE Park, Cathedral Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul, One Liberty Observation Deck, Fairmount Water Works, Boathouse Row, Elfreth Alley
Bring a wide angle lens (approx. 18mm) and whatever gear you like to work with. Kathy will be going over different angles and composition rules. She will be helping each individual with their own specific needs as well.
Additional charge of $5 for an all-day bus pass. Children 4 and under and seniors are always FREE. Meet at Independence Hall 9:30am to get a ticket (see park ranger). SEPTA pass and key card holders ride FREE.

Come join me as we hop on a wagon to get down to a beautiful tremondous sunny field, then walk around and photograph the beauty of the sunflowers in the late afternoon light. Shoot with your Macro or closeup lenses for detailed work to create beauty at it’s finest. Also bring your wide angle lens for some great field shots too!

A new intern has joined the Katydid Photography team. Amanda is a rising Junior studying journalism at American University in Washington, DC. She is originally from Philadelphia and currently lives in Jamison.
Amanda started taking black and white film photography courses in high school and continued on with these classes in college. She bought her first DSLR a little over one year ago and has grown extremely passionate about photography ever since.
Amanda enjoys shooting portraits, urban settings, and concerts. Her favorite location to shoot is New York City. She is looking forward to expanding her knowledge and growing as a photographer during her summer with Katydid.
You will learn how to master your digital camera. Learn to understand what each function on your camera is and more importantly what it does. Not only will we explore the buttons and dials, we will cover proper exposure using ISO, f-stops, shutter speeds, depth of field, lenses, flash and composition. Also discover how to stop the action of sports photos and learn how to take beautiful portraits of your loved ones.
Hands-on instruction during each class with professional instructor, Kathy Peoples. A simple assignment will be given to students each week to help them achieve their goals. All Classes include written instructions and our famous Laminated Cheat Sheet created by Katydid just for you! • 1:00 pm GW and his soldiers will cross the river in Durham boats during the reenactment of the crossing at the Battle of Trenton. Open all day with vendors and museum from 10 AM to 4 PM (actual crossing at 1 PM)
Addt’l COST: $8 for adults, $4 for children age five to 11, and free for those under five (proceeds support future park programs) DETAILS: Troops row across the river in uniform just as they do on Christmas Day.
