Camera Tip of the Week

To photograph Christmas lights at night, in your home or outside with or without people in your photo, it is always best to use a tripod. If you don’t own one, hold your camera very steady or brace it up against your car or a tree.  Then, set your camera to night mode (person with star above them).

Set your ISO to a high number (ex: 800).   Your flash will go off and your shutter speed should be long enough to pick up the blinking lights.  This combo works very well!

Now try moving your camera or zoom lens as the shutter stays open for some wild light patterns!

Merry Christmas.
